
Ms. Melissa Garcia-Martin has extensive experience in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Products Liability, Personal Injury, Insurance Defense, Admiralty, Wrongful Death, and Breach of Contract.
She has successfully represented numerous Fortune 500 companies in Texas and throughout the United States. Additionally, she represents individuals in family law and employment matters. Ms. Garcia-Martin is certified to represent children in abuse and neglect cases and is a certified Guardian Ad Litem in civil cases. She regularly receives appointments from Judges in Fort Bend and Harris County.
Ms. Garcia-Martin has been recognized in Marquis’ Who’s Who In American Law and is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. She is a member of the Houston Bar Association, Ft. Bend County Bar Association, Ft. Bend Chamber of Commerce, the Rose-Rich Chamber of Commerce, and is a former officer and director of the Houston Hispanic Bar Association. She also serves the public through Fort Bend Lawyers Care representing indigent clients at no charge.
Prior to obtaining her law license, Ms. Garcia-Martin spent almost 10 years working for Harris County as a Court Clerk, Court Coordinator and Law Clerk. This experience also afforded her the unique opportunity to observe numerous trials and participate in the decision-making process of countless motions and other proceedings. This unique experience continues to provide her with an advantage in all aspects of her daily law practice.
Ms. Garcia-Martin is licensed to practice in all Texas State Courts and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Texas. Ms. Garcia-Martin received her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston and her law degree from South Texas College of Law.
Mr. Lionel Martin has extensive experience in commercial litigation, breach of contract, products liability, personal injury, wrongful death, labor and employment, appellate, and partnership disputes.
Mr. Martin has successfully represented a wide variety of Fortune 500 companies in complex and significant legal matters in state and federal courts in Texas and throughout the United States. Prior to his private law practice, Mr. Martin served in the United States Army as a Captain and Judge Advocate General (JAG). As a JAG, Mr. Martin regularly advised senior Army leaders on the rules of engagement and the law of war. Mr. Martin also served as the lead prosecutor for two combat brigades where he successfully prosecuted a variety of felonies, including murder, attempted murder, assault, larceny, identity theft, and drug distribution.
H Inside Houston Magazine has recognized Mr. Martin as one of "Houston's Top Young Professionals on the Fast Track," for the last two years. Mr. Martin is also a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, a former director of the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston and has been the Co-Editor of the Harris County Bench Book since 2006. In addition, Mr. Martin regularly gives back to the community with his representation of indigent clients through Fort Bend Lawyers Care, Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program and Texas Appleseed. He is a member of the Fort Bend County Bar Association, the Houston Bar Association and a graduate of the Houston Young Lawyers Association Leadership Academy.
Mr. Martin is licensed to practice in all Texas and Colorado State Courts. He is also licensed to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
